Our First Blog Post | Creative, Right?

“It does exactly what it says on the tin”. Sometimes we get so caught up in what we should be saying, instead of focusing on what we ARE saying. In marketing, there are times when we need to fluff things up, but there are times when we literally need to tell you exactly what’s going on, for many reasons, but mainly for SEO, open rates and interests. So if you read my blog title and think “that’s not a very creative title” you’re wrong ;)

  1. It got you thinking

  2. You knew what you were opening so you won’t be disappointed when you read through. Imagine opening an email or a blog thinking it was going to be about something else only to find that you’ve been led into a false pretence.

Throughout my blog and email newsletter, I will go through all types of tips and tricks within marketing but I always stand by HONEST marketing. Not only will you build a strong trusting relationship with your clients/customers, but you will also become a market leader in your industry.

Our story

As a fashion graduate, I have always had a passion for designing beautiful things in every element. From university, I worked in numerous corporate jobs as an assistant buyer, but my creative flair really took off when I moved into marketing in 2015. Working for 7 years with both offline and online marketing strategies I felt the real buzz of bringing a vision to life and fell in love with the industry. I started to crave more design projects and launched my own online baby clothing company designing and manufacturing organic baby goods.

Using my background in marketing I managed all of the marketing but knew I needed a little more information on website building. This is where I invested in a web design course and learnt all of the skills to build a successful website. Fast forward 6 months and my online store was selling 100 orders a month and I grew my Instagram following to 12k!!

I met so many entrepreneurs and small businesses that were in my situation, they had an amazing ideas, and honestly, some of them were phenomenal ideas, but they had no marketing experience and Google was so overwhelming to find information that they either stalled in their business and couldn’t successfully grow or they had to invest in the ‘big guys’ to build them a website or a marketing agency to advise them on their marketing strategy. I found some of the quotes for these guys eye-watering. How was a small business ever going to grow if they don’t have a huge ££ invest? (one friend of mine was quoted £5k to do a homepage and link up email automation) I wanted to cry for her.

So in that moment, I offered to step in and help them out (for a fee of course, but an affordable fee!) I fell in love with the process and realised that this is where I was meant to be, what I was meant to be doing and who I was meant to be helping. I had real purpose. I now pride myself on helping small businesses and entrepreneurs reach their dreams by offering services at an affordable price, that is going to turn into results.

More of my favs

  • Sipping some kind of coffee (iced, hot, cappuccino, flat white).. honestly, I’m not fussy I just need the coffee! - —

  • Spending quality time with my two little boys - they truly are the best and motivate me every day. My youngest is 2 and my eldest is 5, I think these guys are the reason I’m so good at multitasking!

  • Going to the gym. I used to HATE it, with a passion. I got into functional fitness and wow what a change. You still won’t find me on a treadmill though.

  • Listening to educational podcasts from other entrepreneurs or design lead thinking. Diary of a CEO is highly recommended.

  • Reading design and lifestyle books ~ try Style by Lauren Conrad. She discusses how she created her unique look and covers a girly/California style.

  • Walks on the beach when we’re lucky enough to get the nice weather

  • Flowers —> although I’m not a huge flower fan I do like a daffodil and/or tulip

  • Drink —> Water (boo boring I know, sorry) or if I’m out with the girls it would be wine or a margarita

  • Food —> Mexican. All day, every day.

  • Music —> Okkk so a slightly odd mix but I love country music (Jordan Davis, Sam Hunt, Keith Urban I’m looking at you) and also Dance music (Diplo, Martin Solveig)
